Either Joe Mauer, or Vladimir Guerrero. Mauer hits that ball almost every damn time, but Vlad has a plate presence like I've never seen before. If you watch him, he seems to know exactly where that ball is going to go every time. He also can hit pitches that are out of reach for most players.

I just have to say that Albert Pujols is quite amazing. He has 251 career homeruns & hathis willbe his seventh season playing. Last season he had 8 more homeruns even though he played 56 less games the season before. His career avg. is at .331, but you aren't likely to get someone to be above that and hit so many homeruns. He's also a great fielder with a .990 pct. Overall I'd say he's one of the greatest players in general today.

Ichiro and Vlad can hit everything. No matter how bad the ball is thrown, they stay alive in the count.

Freddy Sanchez won the NL batting champ last year.
Ichiro set the record for most hits in a single season with 262 hits along with 2 batting champions in the past and an MVP award.

This is the DUH question of the day. Pujols is the best all around hitter. Some of the others mentioned look for zone pitches or to hit in a certain field.
Pujols can pull the ball, hit to the opposite field. He has almost no weakness in zones. His stance is not a typical power stance it is a batting avg stance, open with little movement. The swing is a Doubles swing but he has power to all fields. You cannot pitch to him, he hits off speed as well as power pitching and just goes with the pitch. He hits for avg and for power, just when you think he is a power hitter he takes a pitch the opposite way just like a contact hitter.
The big advantage he has is that he is not trying to impress anyone with big power hits, he just wants to put in play - no ego, just baseball. But the real impact of that attitude is that there are 8 other guys on the team that try to copy him. So his hitting style is reflective of an entire team.
