Going to a baseball game tomorrow.?
I'm wondering the same thing, however i don't think George is gonna wanna piss off Clemens,,Roger said the only reason he came back was to work for Torre, and if george had fired him,he wouldn't have came back to our team! But if we loose this series to the mets, things will change real fast!George hates losing to the mets much more then boston!ITS TIME TO FIRE TORRE,,put the other JOE in Garardi!
Who was the first Canadian to pitch a major-league no-hitter?
about 50/50 george steinbrenner a;ways wants to win and pays whatever cost however every year there has been news about it happening and it never hasWho do u think will win the match between the orioles and the blue jays on the 14th?
Joe Torre is in jeopardy of losing his job.The following is a good read why:

In baseball, what determines a "save situation"?
Deserves this. Many years ago. Early 1980s. He lived in Ridgewood, NJ.
He had one of this big Buick station wagons.
He rear ended my friends car.
So he gets out of the car and says here's some tickets to the Mets game to forget the accident.
He is a creep. Cluess Joe as they say all the time.
He wants to leach on society and his star stauts.
If he were a manager at your work site and you lost accounts each day, would he stay on the job. No.
Get rid of this buffon.
This was a true story? What do u think of it?
I think Torre should quit and tell "the boss" to go scratch. But he is a gentleman who loves his players and the team. Each year, for the past 4 - we keep hearing about Torre possibly being let go. And that is all orchestrated by Steinbrenners PR team - to take the blame away from the players, Cashman and his poor, outrageous decisions.
Yankees haven't won a ring in over 7 years now - and have been embarrassed a few times - while wasting billions to not win that ring, yet we keep hearing about the "dynasty" of the Yankees. Sure, they have the most Championships in the history - but for all that money and top brass positions - they have resulted in the same as 31 other teams each year - no ring.
Plus who the hell could do a better job than Torre? Lou Pinelli perhaps - but even he as a great coach cannot hold the jockstrap to Torre. The dark horse is most likely Girardi, considering his accomplishments last year with a total team salary of 2 Yankee players - and a fan base that rivals a womens soccer team. (no disrespect to womens soccer)
And to the Yankee cryass fans - Torre is the best thing since sliced bread for you idiots. Since Steinbrenner bought the team - how many rings do you have? Then tell me who was the manager for the majority. If you think Torre is the reason Rivera has a shot arm, or Abreau is batting .235, or the starting rotation of Seton Hall is better you are fools.
You have a phenominal offense - and horrible pitching rotation, middle relievers and closer who is over the hill.
That is why you share the basement in the AL East and will continue to. Plus the Yankees got away from their winning formula of building from within the farm system to give millions to aging players or 1 off contracts in desperation. You reap what you sow...
And Michael - your comparison is inane. If a company has an owner or CEO who calls all the shots - he takes the fall, but will conveniently fire anyone they choose to fire, due to the lack of integrity and poor self esteem. Steinbrenner cannot have it both ways. HE chose to get rid of Sheffield and put all his support publically on Abraeu, just 1 fine example of piss poor ownership.
Cody - Its Brian Cashman and he doesnt call the shots - he negotiates what the Boss tells him to do, like a good minion, hence his contract extension last year. And I could buy any player with an unlimited bank account.
Most famous baseball player ever known?
The Yankees really need a brawl badly. Torre is not good at firing up the team so someone needs to spice things up a bit.Does anybody know what time the Royals game starts?central time zone please!?
I DONT THINK HE GONNA GET FIRED ATLEAST THIS YEAR.GEORGE CAN'T FIND ANYONE ELSE THAT CAN HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF BEING A YANKEEIt's not Torres fault that Wayne Cashman can't do his job!
agreed with the guy above...its not torre's fault...he can only coach the guys given to him by Cashman...i think cashman shouild go...firing torre is not the answer!
Is Albert Pujols going to do better or worse this year?
hopefully i always hated that manGO RED SOX!!
Over/ Under on the next Lou Pinella tirade?
Replacing Torre will not get the pitchers off the DL any quicker. It will not get the batters to produce hits in clutch situations. Nothing good will come of it. Let him manage the rest of the year. If the pitching staff was healthy, this would not even be a topic of conversation. Whoever wanted Pavano so badly a few years back should be fired.Steinbrenner ABSOLUTLEY DOES NOT hate losing to the Mets more than the Red Sox! He rarely even shows up to Mets/ Yanks. This series he stayed in Tampa to watch Clemens pitch! That took place at the same time as Game 1. As far as not firing Torre to appease Clemens, let the Yanks get swept by the Red Sox. Girardi will be suiting up in pinstripes by Thursday if the Yanks go on to drop 2 of 3 to Chicago and then get swept by the Mets and Red Sox. The Mets series is a lose/ lose situation for the Yanks every year. If they win, its because they were supposed to and if they lose met's fans try to make a big deal. This series is 100% about Mets fans because they have no true rivalry. I would say Atlanta was a rivalry if Mets fans were not rooting for them to beat the yankees in the World series. Like a true yankee fan, I went out and bought a Mets hat in 1986 because the idea of the Red Sox winning a world series was unthinkable! The idea of the Mets winning one doesn't really matter.
I have been waiting for Torre to be fired now ever since he brought Jeff Weaver into a "walk off HR" situation in the World series of 2003. He then Allowed his team to collapse in 2004 as he held the reigns for the greatest collapse, not only in our beloved Yankee history, but in over 100 years of baseball History! Yet he kept his job! In 2005 he throws away homefield advantage by starting Jaret Wright in the last game of the season against the Red Sox so that he could have Mussina for game 1 and 5. That season, for the record, was one of Mussina's career worst and small and Chacon were lightning in a bottle that year. Chacon, of course, was terrific in game 4 and mussina sucked in game 5. Torre is the one that takes blame there. He is the one that is suppossed to put the players in a position to win and he never does that. All I have to say about 2006 is "Sheffield at first and Rodriguez batting 8th"? Torre should have been fired a long time ago and has escaped the clutches of death for no other reason than his celebrity. He was a terrible manager (1 division title in over 20years) before he took over that ready made Dynasty in 96, and he has been terrble since that team broke up!
Do the marlins, tampa bay, pittsburg, kansa city, and milwauke deserve teams?
Like the old saying go's . " Heads will roll " ... and George will be the Axeman if he has to be. ... or just if they don't start wining a lot.More Questions & Answers...
