Is Brad Lidge done for good?

Question:Because I just dropped his as* for Dan Wheeler in my fantasy league. That sucks how he let that Pujols HR in the playoffs get to his head. Hopefully he finds his way back to his former dominating self.

Answers:

Brian Rike is having a great year at LA Tech and is he a first round pick in this upcoming MLB Draft.?

Just like what ESPN calls him "Lights Out" Lidge..I keep him on my team just to laugh at the guy who has Oswalt and how Lidge has already blown a game for Oswalt.

Favorite song with the most COW BELL?

I don't think he is done. He still has great stuff, just having trouble with his head.

How far do you think the cleveland indians go this year?

Pujols can't be the only reason he's pitching like this. His last appearance against Pujols he got two swinging strikes and a grounder that would have ended up a double play if Loretta didn't make an error. Then Lidge wouldn't have had the five run inning.

Curveball help?

Lidge has skills, but is in a serious funk.

Wheeler is a good pick up, he has the skills and now the job.

However, The Astros are not known for their rational decision-making. So, who knows.

I picked up Wheeler as well.

for what that's worth

Did u see the mets today they came back and won by 6 run how will anyone stop that AMAZING lineup?

I've had Wheeler since Day1 in my fantasy leagues (paying me back from taking him so early in past years). I don't think he is "done," but he needs a relaxed environment to get back his confidence. He'll need to prove he has it back before I pick him to close again though..

My arm friggin kills me in the morning after a baseball game. what should i do. did i blow my arm out???

Physically speaking, he's not done. He's still relatively young, still has a good arm, still has good stuff. It's difficult to say that a guy who has averaged triple digit strikeouts over the past three years is "done."

It's all in his head. He's not relaxed and confident as he used to be. That's messing with his command.

Can parents file a petition to change a local Little League bylaw?

I don't think Lidge is done for good. I think he needs to get out of Houston. The homer he gave up to Pujols in 2005 is still affecting him. Just look at Sunday's game. He gave up 5 runs in one inning. Houston needs to get him out of the closer spot now.

I do think that Lidge could be successful on another team. Some players just need a change of scenery every now and then.

Which baseball team do you think has the best pitching?

No not yet i think hes still got alot of promise he can bounce back.

Barry Bonds?

Depends if he can get his confidence back.

In the last 12 games who has been the hotest team the Angels, Red Sox, or the Brewers?

Some say it was unfair to demote Lidge from the closer role after two rough performances. I know folks think he has a good chance to regain the gig but I don't see it. His replacement is perfectly capable of pitching the ninth inning. Closers are fungible enough where I don't feel that Lidge is worth the bench space in a mixed league. He should probably have an NL-only spot for the strikeouts though.
