IHSA rules on playing an athlete who has also played on another level that day.?
Question:I'm a freshman softball coach. Yesterday one of my pitchers played on the sophmore level.. The sophomore game was done and we were in the 3rd inning. We were having some pitching troubles and I asked the ump if it was legal to have my pitcher who played soph leve to come into the game and pitch. He said it was completely legal....even when the other coach questioned it....he showed her the rule book. Now my soph and varsity coach are upset with me for making this decision. I didn't do it to blow the other team out of the water, we just needed her to pitch because our starting pitcher was DONE and our backup had a sore arm. Well everyone is up in arms and I'm feeling like a complete idiot. I thought I covered my bases when I spoke with the ump about it...but maybe I didn't. This is my first year coaching and I am just feeling terrible about this decision. We did end up winning the game, but it was NOT b/c she pitched.

Do you think Yankees are going to win tonight.?
I don't understand the question. Why are your fellow coaches upset with you? Do they think you pitched the girl too many innings that day, or that you brought in a ringer? I think that since it is only a freshman game, you should tell the other coaches to worry about themselves. What is the reason why the Yankees are building a new stadium?
That is legal and legit, but it probably limitedthe girl the number of innings she can pitch at the soph level, just for a few days though
What are your three favorite plays/events in baseball?
It's legal. If you asked the Ump, he/she opened up the rule book and proved that it was legal to the other coach, then your superiors should not be upset at all.More Questions & Answers...
