In Major League Baseball, what does a walk-off homerun mean, or by any matter what does walk-off mean?

Who Is Your Favorite Baseball Player, As A 3rd Basemen.?
"Walk-off" means that the play in question ended the game in victory for the team who made the play. For example, say Team A is down 3-2 to Team B, and Team A is batting in the bottom of the 9th. If Team A hits a 2-run home run, that would be a walk-off home run. Team A wins 4-3 and there is no need to play the rest of the inning.
A walk-off hit doesn't have to be a home run though. In the same situation as the previous paragraph, Team A could hit a 2-run single to win the game 4-3 and that would be walk-off rbi single.
By definition, walk-off hits can only happen in the bottom of the 9th, the bottom of the 10th, bottom of the 11th, etc...
How can I watch out of market baseball games if I cannot get Direct TV or Dish Network?
it means "game winning". because the remainder of the inning doesn't need to be played. the players can "walk off" the field. only the winning run needs to cross home plate.if it's a walk-off double, for instance, the guy who hit the double doesn't need to do anything except make sure that he doesn't get out. once the winning run crosses the plate, the players walk off.
Does Nomar GarciaParra have OCD?
A walk off home run is one hit in the bottom of the ninth inning or in the bottom of any inning of an extra inning game where the home team wins because of the home run. It is therefore called a walk off home run. The same would be true of a base on balls with the bases loaded. It would occur in the ninth inning or in an extra inning game where the home team would win and "walk off" the field.Chow!!
