Who was a better manager Billy Martin or Joe Torre?
You don't state your age, so w/o knowing if you're throwing breaking balls yet, I would rec. Throwing the 1st pitch for a strike, keep it low, change your speed(Keep 'em guessing) don't nibble too much, remember even the best MLB hitters make out approx. 6.5 times out of every ten at bats. Don't respect the hitter, the plate is yours, throw to the glove, and if all else fails, show some wildness. Don't ever let batters get too comfortable in the box.practice makes perfect

Don't try to throw hard. A good fastball is like a good golf swing, in that, it take correct muscle memory and if you try too hard you will be offtarget and the ball will not go as far. You could even hurt yourself. Just repeat a comfortable throwing motion. If you are younger then 17 do not try to throw braking pitches. I say even wait until age 20. Also a lot of good breaking pitches come from goos fastball mechanics. If you hav a good fastball it will help your slider in ways you probably can not imagine. Good luck, keep practicing. Remember, the most imporant part of pitching mechanics is being able to repeat the same throwing motion with out geting hurt. If you feel strain - stop. It should feel almost effortless when done correctly.More Questions & Answers...
