I think this question is biased. The Yankees are a dominant financial force, mostly due to broadcasting deals, and other things.
Major League Baseball is an entertainment industry. What is entertaining is that they compete to see who plays best in the next 162 games, so they can see who is best in a short series.
If it was meant that a select few teams who 'worked hard' were the only teams to have a chance, while the others are fodder to pad the prime teams' stats, why would these teams even be in the league?
The Devil Rays are an expansion team, and while some have had good years, they are still developing young players. The concern for revenus sharing is to allow teams like Pittsburgh and Kansas City to be on the same playing field as the Yankees.
Revenue sharing, as it exists now, is still flawed, but a working system will be found, and when it happens, the league will be a lot more balanced.
What is barry bond's sons name?
That's a terrible analogyMLB baseball is ONE business - The contract with the players association is negotiated by MLB -
I know you don't get it and obviously never will, but for the good of the game ALL of the teams need to have a chance to compete on the SAME level...
If all of the teams have a chance >more tickets get sold >more money goes back into both the owners and players pocket >the fans get a better game > Try to take into consideration the good of the game and not "we get 20 or even in some cases 50 times as much money from TV revenues and can buy championships so why should I care"
