Is there a limit on the amount of fundraisers in little league baseball?
Question:So far this season, my little brother's team has had 2 fundraisers. Currently, we're doing a trip fundraiser and now they're saying we have another fundraiser coming up so he can play all stars. I found this to be odd since last year for all stars the only part of the uniform they provided was the jersey which he had to return. Is 4 fundraisers for a couple of months of playing too much? Also, for all these fundraisers, if we choose not to participate, we have to pay a $40 'buyout'. $40 each for all 4 fundraisers is $120, plus $50 registration fee is $170 per child. Does it really cost that much to run a little league team? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have a link or reference for this matter that would be great too. Thank you.

Would you use the pink bat tommorow if you were a player?
Sounds like they really don't know how to do a big fundraising event, so they are doing lots of product sale fundraisers. And by the way, they're not doing them very well if they are only averaging $40 in profit per child. Most schools that know what they're doing average over $100 per child.
This site has lots of ideas for events. A good event can easily raise $30,000 or more. Plus, it's a whole lot more fun than selling overpriced candy bars!

Even if the league doesn't want to do an event, get them to sell 2-for-1 pizza cards because they're 90% profit. Setup tables at shopping centers and you can sell a couple thousand at $10 each in a single weekend.

Why was the Chicago White Sox/Minnesota Twins game postponed today?
yeah, it costs a lot to run a league.for example, most little leagues pay their umpires, $20-$50 a game, And just imagine the power bill from all those lights!?!also, the uniforms cost the league probably $30-$40 of their registration fee.
Also, when your league sends out All Star teams, the league has to foot the bills that the teams incure, from hotels to mileage, to new equipment.
but there is supposed to be a limit to the number of fundraisers a league can have in a year, that are done by the kids, like selling raffle tickets, candy bars, etc
