Why didn't the Blue Jays sign Greg Maddux, who is much better than Zambrano or Okha?

Question:If they couldn't afford Gil Meche or Barry Zito, sign Greg Maddux (who isn't as expensive anymore). He seems to be a decent pitcher with a decent ERA and W-L despite his aging.

With all the extra money they have and the leftovers from Ted Lilly and Hinske it's more than enough for the Jays. What a wasted season.

Not many players want to go to Toronto in the twilight of their career, even though the Blue Jays have a decent team. It's all about location and where you best fit in. Maddux probably wouldn't have gone to Toronto even if they doubled his contract. It's not about money anymore when your at his stage of his career.

Greg Maddux would have a hard time transitioning to the American League, ESPECIALLY, the AL West...he still cost $10 too, so it was not like he was a bargain...but the Blue Jays have some great young arms, such as Marcum, Jansson, McGowen, and Chacin, so there is no need to worry...Ohka, Zambrano, and Thompson are only stop-gaps...and with their rash of injuries this year, they would not have contended anyway...so chill
