Johan is the best pitcher. Over the last years his ERA has been going up, not by big points but its goin up. I still feel that he is the best Pitcher in the MLB, with and amazing change-up that allows his arm to stay healthy unlike many pitchers who have arm problems from throwing too many curve balls. Johan has proven that he can take a team far, his a dinamic pitcher with great junk. He is round the top of every pitching category every year and thats why he is my best pitcher in the MLB.Alos look for John Lackey to make a great impression on people, with an amazing line-up and defense he has he can win many games. He strikes out a lot of batters and forces them to hit ground balls.

I would agree with Johan Santana as the best. I met him at Oakland's ballpark last year at the dugout. He's a great person, exceptional pitcher and even though the game went on, he chatted it up with my son and I and gave us a signed baseball when we left after the game. Our seats were in between both dugouts at the same level and we were just feet from players from each team the entire time.He did not pitch that day, but after watching him on TV and hearing reports of his achievements, he's the best for sure!

Johan Santana. Compare his numbers to the best in the NL and his are among the best in the majors. Then compare overall NL numbers to AL. K's are about 2.5 less per game and ERA about a full run higher since they don't face pitchers. Blaming Santana for the Twins not going to a series is just plain dumb-until he pitches every game.Rivera? He was awesome against the Sox 2 years ago. One out away from winning games 4 and 5 and gets hammered in both. Tied in game 6 and blew that too. His numbers from that year are good only because inherited baserunners count against the pitcher that let them reach base, not the guy that let them score. Being 'the best post season closer in the history of the game' ignores the fact that closers didn't exist until the 70's, and have only been specialized for about 20 years.
