Question:Will someone please tell me that the Phillies are good. All I hear is the mets, mets, mets. They did that they signed him, They won this game and that game. As a diehard Phillies fan will someone rid me of these thoughts of the Mets being Better than the Phillies

The Phillies have consistently been a slow-starting ballclub the last few years and have fought their way back to .500 again this year WITHOUT their MVP Ryan Howard who is on the disabled list. Their pitching staff is much better than the last couple of seasons so expect to see them playing in October for the first time since '93. With a solid, young core group of players in Howard, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins, the Phils will be a threat for the next several years.Who's going to win the world series this year?

Personally I hope the Phillies can get somewhere. I have no care for the Mets. (The main reason for this is because of Moyer. He used to be on the Mariners. I like the Mariners.)I think that they can pull off the Wild Card at LEAST. The Phillies are a good team, its just that the Mets are covering it up.

It would be funny for the team to miss the playoffs on the last day of the season and have Charlie meltdown on a reporter again. They are playing better, but they aren't jumping over the Mets and the Braves. And even if they finish second in the division, the WC may then come out of the West. I just don't see the Phils making the playoffs or finishing higher than third.Sorry to tell you this...but they are third best team in that division. Not only are the Mets better, but the Braves are as well. I like the Phillies and they have some good players, but will be on the outside looking in this year. Unless they can figure out a way to fix that horrible bullpen it'll happen to them again next year too...

Well the Mets are in first place, and the Phillies suck this year. Howard is struggling, they dont have any good pitching, they are making sloppy plays. Look this team doesnt have a chance making the playoffs cause the Mets are kings in that division, and the Braves seem to be back to the Braves they used to be before last season.
