Should George Steinbrenner fire Joe Torre now?
Question:Before this season is lost. I personally thought he should have retired or have been fired at the end of last year. I think the game has passed him by. I'm a lifetime Yankee fan.

I don't think he should be fired, but it is time to retire at the end of the season. The organization needs a change of direction and this isn't Minnesota where a great coach like Tom Kelly can stay on despite losing.I don't think the game has passed Torre by. His players have grown old and finally the team's strategy has broken down. Torre is a great manager of veteran players, not a talent developer. The Yankees' strategy in the past has been to dip into the free agent market each year to obtain the best possible veteran talent available to surround a core group of home-grown players, like Jeter, Posada, and Bernie Williams. That has worked well in the past, but it relies on that talent working out and not bogging down the team with bad contracts for aging players.
He should retire because the next 2-3 seasons will be the same.
Who was the worst Baseball player ever?
I think Joe Torre should be able to leave on his own. He is too good of a manager to be fired. (I'm a Mets fan)why no..you think torre just got dumb overnight?? dude it's not the manager.
Why am I not seeing White Sox scores in my yahoo scoreboard?
no Steinbrenner should not fire Torre now, he's going to retire at the end of the year anyway, plus the Yankees struggles are not his fault. Does the manager play the game? or do the players play?In your honest opinion. Who is or was the best base stealer of all time?
i think stienbrenner should be the one leaving not joe torreWhy was Paul DePodesta fired by the Dodgers?
It is absolutely not Torre's fault that the Yankees got off to a bit of a slow start. there's no reason for steinbrenner to fire him, but if the Yankees don't improve drastically in the next few weeks i have a feeling steinbrenner may do something drastic himself. What that may be, i have no idea.Barry Bonds makes me sick. Agree or disagree?
Yes, no ifs ands or buts about it.How do you put on a baseball belt?
NAH HE'S ALRIGHT..YOU YANK FANS ARE A BIT TRIGGER HAPPY..AND i DON'T BLAME YA..LOOK AT YOUR OWNER...MOST TEAMS DON'T HAVE 26 CHAMPIONSHIPS...IF THEY HAD A MGR LIKE TORRE..HE'D BE THERE FOR LIFE..
Any info on Satchel Paige's parents?
Personally I think Torre has been there since.well, ever and should retire any time now. Other than that.its not his fault the Yankees are not doing as well as they normally play. Now I can't say I know a lot about whats going on with the Yankees, but from what it sounds like is that they have a lot of hurt pitchers. I believe the return of the Rocket will not help any, but once the hurt pitchers come back I think that the Yankees will be back to their winning selves again. No, of course not! If he does, then why did Roger Clemens come to the Yankees! Then who would manage the Yankees. As of now, the pitching has been brilliant but the Yankees aren't hitting. The person that should be fired is Kevin Long, the hitting coach(who was last year for Triple-A). Even though he was praised for A-Rod's hot April, every Yankee except Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, and Hideki Matsui is in a huge slump.
Johnny Damon .256 2 HR 13 RBI
Bobby Abreu .236 2 HR 21 RBI
Robbie Cano .234 1 HR 16 RBI
A-Rod (this month) .259
and the list goes on....
Right now, the Yankees need a right-handed bat because they are filled with lefties. So as you can see, the hitting is the Yankee's problem right now. Kevin Long has to GO!
Is Derek Jeter the face of MLB today?

Zack Greinke vs. Daisuke Matsuzaka great pitching duel?
No. It's more Brian Cashman's fault than it is Joe Torre's.Is ticko.com a legit ticket buying site?
Yeah, the Yankees should fire one of the best managers in baseball and replace him with someone who has little or no experience. Everyone says fire Torre...but they never say who they would replace him with. Until you can come up with someone better suited to run the team in his place quit saying it!Who do you think will win the MVP (MLB) this year??
No. Joe Torre is doing the best he can with what he has. As was said, he didn't get stupid overnight, he knows what he's doing. When this rumor started earlier this year, it irritated me, and I'm a Red Sox fan. Torre's a great guy, and deserves to leave on his own terms. Why do Americans love baseball so much?
a true yankee fan would see what joe torre has done for the team and what he is still doing to make them better.it's how the players do not the managers
I would say keep him. He's working with the personnel he has. I was surprised to see Torre back after last year, the Yankee expectations are so high, that anything short of a World Series is unacceptable. He's been the manager in NY a long time, that's a whole lot of pressure, but he manages it well.
No, he cant play for the players. NOt his fault. the Yankees are not playing as a team.
i think that torre doesnt pitvh or hit last time i checked the players need to win the game example to day andy 7 strong innings 3 er great yankees offense 2 runs see its either pitching good offense is bad pitching good offense bad what the hell
Is it ok to hit tennis balls with an exogrid baseball bat? Will it get damaged??
no offense dude, but get ur head out of ur @$$. i mean come on. i hate the yankees with a passion but seriously even i know that torre is not responsable for the yankees demise. he is still a top 5 best coach in baseball. how can u fault torre for injuries, old age, bad luck? he is not out there playing ball.More Questions & Answers...
