What muscles does Softball use and what kind of drills can I do to strenghten them?

Question:Just to let you guys know, I've been playing softball ever since I was 4, (I'm 14 now), but I'm playing at a higher level now. I want activities that I can do when I'm not at practice. Also, I'm a 3rd baseman and I sometimes batcatch.

Answers:

What is the most important position in baseball?

It's not so much the muscles as the coordination, especially hand-eye. I would keep running, maybe mix in some sprinting, and throw, throw, throw. Build up your throwing arm. As a 3rd baseman, you'll need to make strong, accurate throws, so practice throwing until it becomes second nature. Good luck.

When pithching in Jr.s I never made my mind of how many pitches I should have in my repoitare?

running do crooss training on the elyptical push ups and good reflexes and hand eye coordination

Who are the teams that you think are going to make the playoffs?

I would say leg and arm muscles.

Anyone know of any baseball umpire jobs in CT(new-haven county)?

sprints- lots of them. there's also a drill where you get someone to roll you tennis balls from one side to another as you pick them up in correct fielding position. The arm strong helps develop arm strength and catching balls with a soft pad instead of a glove should help develop soft hands. oh and of course as much batting cage time as possible
