How much would such a baseball player be paid?
Question:Scenario: A pitcher has made a name for himself in the Minor Leagues, having played for approx. a year-and-a-half after high school and college. He's now moving up to a MLB team... about how much would he be paid his first year?
Answers:
Can you name a former Yankee outfielder named "Tony" that played until the middle of last season?
The major league minimum this season is $380,000 and he won't get a penny over that. No one does. This is set as part of the collective bargaining agreement.A players salary for his first three seasons is set by the team, although there can be a bit of negotiation for the second and third years. It's not until a player is eligble for arbitration, and then for free agency, that the salaries begin to really rise.
Why does the AL have the DH and the NL dosn't?
aorund and million and a half or so i thinkdepends how good he is?
I would think around 700k or so give or take 200k. This is assuming of course he has an exsisting minor league contract. If he was renewing his contract for the major league level I would guess that he would make around 900k a year.
Why would a player be called up from minors(not to report)?
It would depend on his stats. You get what you pay for. Were can I buy plain cork to cork my bat with.?
That is already determined in his signing bonus when he was drated.Once he is brought up and stays then he would negotiate for his salary. Each team is different though.More Questions & Answers...
