Best starting 5 pitching rotation in baseball this year?
Question:my team may suck and probably is last in offense and im gonna sound like a homer but the San Francisco Giants have the best starting 5 pitching top to bottom this year Cain, Zito, Lincecum, Morris, and Lowry
what are you opinions? who do you got as the best starting 5 top to bottom?

I'd have to say that the Boston Red Sox have the best starting rotation. 3 out of the 5 Red Sox starters could be considered for the all-star game. Matsuzaka was a high risk acquisition with the amount of cash they threw at him. He is doing well. If he didn't give up 7 earned runs to Seattle a few weeks ago his ERA would be in the 3's. Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling are dominant as usual. Even knucleballer Tim Wakefield has posted a 2.41 ERA. The only weakness in the rotation is Tavares who was converted from a relief pitcher. The Oakland A's have a very low ERA and Haren is having an all star year, but they have alot of no-decisions. One advantage Oakland has if you want to call it an advantage is they have two lefties and Boston has none. San Fransisco has allot of big name starters, but surprisingly Lowrey is having the best year so far. If Zito can put together a few win streaks and just be more consistent, the Giants are a dangerous team in a playoff series. The LA Dodgers have allot of talent and are putting up good numbers, but Boston is just better. Another team that is doing well is San Diego with new addition veterans Greg Maddux and David Wells, although Wells is not doing so "well". Jake Peavey is most likely the top candidate for the Cy Young in the NL. Its still early in the season, but if Boston's staff stays healthy and Tavares gets more comfortable as a starter, the Red Sox are going to start reeling off some huge win streaks. One of Boston's middle relievers, Okajima, has a streak of 17 scoreless innings, and has only given up one earned run the whole year.Why did the mets shave their heads and what's up with the pink bands?

CC is 6-1. Didnt win is 6th game till mid June last season. He is Cy Young canidate this year !! Westbrook is on DL currently and hasnt pitch too well, but he will still be 14-10 or so. Lee is back and is a crafty left hander, would be #2 or even #1 on some ballclubs. Carmona pitched a 4 hit shoutout yesteday, has beat Johan Santana twice this season and is 4-0 in his last 5 starts. Paul Bryd is the Vet at the end of the rotation that eats innings and has a good enough ERA, cause our offense will score him runs...

When all is said and done the red sox will have the best pitching staff this year. They have three pitchers who would be aces on most teams in the league. Before the season began this was somthing I wrote down about the Indians staff,who I think is the best.Ace-CC Sabathia-Had his best season yet although he record does not show it.Did not get help from the bullpen,blew 7 of this leads.Led the league in complete games and was 3rd in ERA.(12-11,3.22 ERA,172 SO)
Jake Westbrook-Lead the Indians in wins last year.Very consistent.Good sinkerballer.(15-10,4.17 ERA,109 SO)
Cliff Lee-Will start the season on the DL.Will be back by mid-April.Dropped from his 2005 stats but is still a good #3 starter.(14-11,4.40 ERA,129 SO)
Jeremy Sowers-#1 draft pick.Is supposed to be one of the league best starters someday.Did very well last year,in his rookie season.(7-4,3.57 ERA,35 SO)
Paul Byrd-Good #5 starter.Not good against left handed batter but has workedo n that over the offseason.(10-9,4.88 ERA,88 SO)
Were also forgetting Fausto Carmona.He's beaten Johan Santana twice this year and has a lower ERA than Sabathia with a 5-1 record.Pitched a 4 hit shutout yesterday. And then theres Adam Milelr. Hasn't played in the bigs yet but has absolutley dominated the minors. Was named top pitching prospect of the year in 2006 by some magazine,can't remember which one.When you have 7 starters and you can't fit them all you don't only have a good staff or a great staff,you have depth.

I would have to say that the Detroit Tigers starting 5 is pretty good, I mean Robertson.. is an awsome LHP, BOnderman is doing awsome. Merloth is great! Verlander well hes just gonna be one of the top pitchers, Hes doing awsome, for only his second season (counting rookie year) And well Durbin...hes holding his own...had a rough start, now hes doing great. Just wait until Rogers comes back..Go Tigers!
