Question:ESPN and this over the top coverage of Dice K? There is a no hitter through 6 innings, and these guys cannot stop talking about Dice K. In to the break, out of the commercial break, a "sideline" reporter talking to people in the crowd about him. Japanese announcers being pushed on us for Ichiro's at bat. Is this really good tv?

Yeah, it is kind of sickening. I admit that I find him to be an interesting guy, but come on. I heard Steve Phillips on ESPN radio yesterday morning saying how "excited" he was to be working this game, and "what a privilege" it was for ESPN to have it. It is just hype to improve the ratings for ESPN, which is OK, but it is getting to be a bit much. The hype is just going to continue, when Matsuzaka faces good teams like the Yankees, Tigers, White Sox, and Angels.As for Dice-K, the guy facing him, Hernandez,is 21 years old and will be a major superstar pitcher, even better than Matsuzaka, the fact that he was pitching a no-hitter should be the story here. I think we will have to get used to the hype for the whole year. I think listening to the Japanese broadcasters was over the top, and had more to do with Ichiro facing Matsuzaka, two Japanese stars facing each other. My problem with it was, why have those guys on if we can't understand them?

It's called "Hype", I think that i'm getting sick of other people who hate the attention that Dice-K's getting.We know what Hype can do to a player, it can be bad or good. Besides, he's going up against Felix Hernandez, Dice-K's not the only great pitcher out there!

I agree with my fellow twins fan, they are trying to hype him up like hes the next big thing, i dont know about everyone else, but id rather get back to the ESPN shows that arent solely about Dice-KWhen are these players due back from injury?
I'm a huge Red Sox fan, and I am even tired of all this "Hype." And I was also getting annoyed with all of the Japanesse signs at Fenway. Hopefully in the next few weeks or so, all this 'Dice K' (which I think they should just call him Daisuke and call it a day) stuff will settle down. It's just him being new in the whole MLB and the fact that he's Japanesse thats causing all this comotion.
