Who is the most underrated baseball player in history for his career? In his prime?
Question:To be clear, I'm looking for two names, one player who is underrated despite a great career. Another guy who dominated for a couple of years, even if his career flamed out.

Jimmie Foxx. Hit over 500 home runs, won a triple crown, and had over 1,900 rbis. Unfortunately for him he did this in the midst of the great Babe Ruth who dominated baseball headlines during that time.The other player is Frank Robinson who is never mentioned with the greats. This guy hit well over 500 home runs, won the triple crown and won league MVP in both leauges.

In his prime I would say Roger Maris. Everyone knows about '61, but most people think he was a one year wonder. This isn't the case though...he actually won two MVP awards including 1961. He was a great player for a few years at the peak of his career. For an entire career there are a lot of good choices, but I would go with Frank Robinson. He's kind of the forgotten man among the top ten in home runs. I think this comes from the fact that he didn't play for any of the bigger market teams and he isn't a recent player (Sosa, Mac) I think the guy deserves more recognition than he gets.In what way, realistically, does American League differ from National League?
