Regardless of whether or not Bonds cheated, it would still be cool to have.If I had unlimited resources, then I'd probably go into the high six figures. Considering that I actually have limited resources, however, I don't think my wife would go for me spending more than $10K on a baseball. Somehow, I don't think it'll come that cheap.

It would be a tainted ball marked by a tainted record winning hit. Whether or not Bonds is guilty of steroid use, the majority of baseball fans wouldn't be surprised if he did use them. Guilty until proven inoccent.I'd spend my money elsewhere.

I would not pay anything for it but it will sell in the millions to someone. Whatever it sells for it will not be worth the money because it will go down in value after the initial impact of breaking the record. Once A-Rod or others come along and hit 800 the price will tumble to a point where you and I might be able to pool our money and buy it.756 is not worth anything. The ball to have is Barry's last home run. Have you ever heard of anyone talking about Hank Aarons homerun ball number 715? No is all about 755, his last home run. 756 will not be the new record.
Even though a grounds keeper caught Mcguires 62nd ball and it wasn't up for sale it would not have gotten as much money as number 70 got.

Although I agree that the ball MAY be tainted, one auction site has already said that they would buy #756 for a cool million dollars from whoever catches it. If they've already come out and said that, I'm sure you could easily get one and half or two million for it somewhere else (a rich private collector or rival auction site). Keep in mind that Mark McGwire's 70th went for $3 million, so you'd be dumb if you wouldn't pay at least one million for it because you'll easily be able to turn around and sell it for more. Now if I could only come up with an extra million dollars...
