Clearly, Posada is your guy. He will hit more homeruns, higher ba, catch more games. If you have Pudge ( that is who i have ) don't worry about it. Pudge is the greates catcher of our generation, he will put up solid numbers all year long. Not as much power, since the whole MLB steriod mess, but he is still a keeper.

jorge, better hitter, with slightly more power, better avg, walks more, he plays almost every day(not just 4/5 like vari)

he also has a better lineup around him for more rbis,runs, ab, etc

If you have Pudge, then I'd say neither one. Not enough production out of the catcher's position to worry about a back-up. Go for a back-up in some other position. Maybe pitcher. Get more starts, and with that there is the possibility of more wins, better era, more k's, and better whip. There's definitely better alternatives than a backup catcher.
