How do they pick the all-star game location in baseball??
Question:I'm wondering how they pick the stadium for the MLB all-star game
Answers:
Also, the All-Star game usually alternates leagues each year. This year it is in San Francisco (NL), and next year it will be in New York (AL).
Sometimes, a city is picked for sentimental reasons like New York. NY was selected because after next year Yankee Stadium will be demolished and MLB wanted to give it a proper sendoff.
It's definately in San Francisco this year, and definately in New York next year, I don't know why they switched it up. New Busch Stadium will host the game in 2009.
As I recall, Aa committee visits ball parks and decides tears in advance where each all star game will be played.
What exactly is a donruss prime patches baseball card?
If the all-star game is alternated between the AL and the NL, then the game will be in a AL park this year and not San Fran. It was in Pittsburgh last year! Cities put in bids for the game sorta like the Olympics. Why do pitchers sit alone when they r throwing a no hitter?
Well - there's an alternating rotation between American and National leagues...Typically, cities with new parks are chosen. Which is kinda stupid - because San Fran which hosts this year, well they're "new park" is now seven years old - and you have a place like Arizona, which has a 10-year-old park that has never hosted.
If the winner of the said All Star Game wins home field advantage in the World Series - then I think the leauge (american or national) that wins the Series should host the All Star Game the next year.
