Rule Question?

pinch hitter is someone who bats for someone in the line up... a pinch hitter does not start the game and comes in when is needed... for example if you are losing in the bottom of the ninth and you have a right handed pitcher and your week right handed batter is due to hit... you will put in a stronger left handed batter to pinch hit and hopefully drive in some runs. the pinch hitter will then play the rest of the game, including fielding and running bases (if the game were to go longer)

i hope that answered your question

Looking for a youth baseball league for my 11 year old boy to play for in north co.?

a pinch hitter is a regular position player that didn't start the game and who is batting for someone (usually the pitcher when they are being pulled from the game) in a particular inning. doing so allows a good (or better) batter to hit for a much weaker hitting pitcher or when the team needs a big hit or homerun late in the game. they run the bases because thats what happens when you get on base. the people that gets picked to pinch hit are usually someone that has a decent average or homerun power. hope this helps and anything else email me and let me know.
