What will it take for the Giants to get Brad Lidge?
Question:Armando Benitez and Pedro Feliz for Lidge, what you think
Answers:
What is your favorite baseball team?
I really think they could get him for a couple of minor leaguers as Garner, the Astros manager has no confidence in Lidge and he hasn't been nowhere near the pitcher he use to be after Puljos hit that homer off him a few years ago. Personally, I think he is done as is Julio the closer for the Marlins and is where I think Benitez is headed, the Marlins.I would hope the Giants would go after someone like Chad Cordero of the Nationals instead, he's young and has a huge upside. He could be their closer for years to come.
Who was the first player in baseball to have his number retired?
Don't think they will do it. But that is decent. If you could bring up one hitter and one pitcher from your favorite team's AAA team.?
Houston would be crazy to take Benitez and Feliz. Both are over 30 years old. Benitez would be a repeat of Lidge, blowing save after save. Feliz is not going to get much better at the age of 32.Right now, Houston's asking for too much for Lidge. I imagine they will be lowering their price in a month. But they will ask for young promising players which the Giants don't have many of...
Are major league pitchers able to through a ball as fast on a little league field?
A twelve pack of beer and promise not to return him.First person to get this, win ten points. What does POA mean?
Trading Armando Benitez for Brad Lidge is like trading the Titanic for the Lusitania. How can you find out when a particular MLB game will play in ESPNHD?
Didn't they trade Liriano, Nathan, and Bonser for AJ Pierzynski? lol -- methinks they'll trade Lincecum for Lidge based on their history.Do you the cubs just have a normal win streak going? or is this the sign of a magical season?
IF the Astros trade Lidge... which could be unlikely this season... they'll be looking for a starting pitcher and/or position player...they won't necessarily be after relief pitching...between their major league club and the farm system, they are pretty deep right now in relief... that does not mean that the minor leaguers are ready to come up and contribute, but they will be... I think they'll continue to work on Lidge... any team would be hard pressed to not exhaust every possibilty of salvaging the career of a guy who still brings the heat at 97mph and still maintains that slider that at one time was considered the best in baseball..BUT, on the flip side... I'm with the guy who said that if the Astros are going to take anything, they should settle for the 12 pack and a promise of no return.
