Do you think it is disrespectful at MLB games...?
Question:Do you think it is disrespectful at MLB games where during the National Anthem for fans do yell O when it gets to the part "O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave"? Baltimore Orioles fans yell "O "at that part for the Orioles, but do you think it is disrespectful to do at at other MLB parks that have nothing do do with the Orioles. In my opinion and as a veteren, fans who do it at other parks are disrespectful. I have even seen fans do this at NHL games and I think it is highly disrespectful. If you do it Camden Yards that is fine because it is a tradition, but anywhere else it is disrespectful.

I don't like it either. Some things are more important than just trying to have a little fun. It is about respect and our country and that should have priority. What if A-Rod hit 70 home runs and 200 RBIs?
wait, was that supposed to be a question. You basically answered it yourself. Well, there goes 10 points wasted for ya. Oh well."If you do it Camden Yards that is fine because it is a tradition,"
The tradition aspect of it doesn't make it any less disrespectful.
I live in Baltimore and go to games here, and the "O" thing really burns me. Personally, I can do without all the antheming and god-bless-america-ing, but I always stand, keep quiet, and remove my hat out of respect.
Baseball fans.. Are you going to opening day?
I agree with 100%. There are college and pro teams have these "traditions" with the national anthem. During the anthem, etiquette would be stand respectfully, sing along if you'd like, be respectful and save the cheering and chanting for the game.Who was the last player other than Eric Chavez to win the AL Gold Glove at 3rd base?
You're right, it is disrespectful, but why is it OK in one ballpark and not the rest...regardless of the reason, it is still disrespectful to yell during the anthem.Who do you think is the best defensive player in Baseball?
BULL crap, why allow the Orioles the right and nobody else. Just because Orioles starts with an O and the fans make a joke about it during the playing of the National Anthem doesn't make it right. Nobody should disrespect the National Anthem, not even all the Oriole fans that created a stupid, disrespectful tradtion.Should Roger Clemens give Yankees a 6 inning discount?
Yes, I think it is show some national pride and cheer for your team during the game not the National Anthem! If the yankees are a championship caliber team ..?
First of all, I think it's disrespectful anywhere you do it. Just because it's a tradition doesn't make it okay.More importantly, I do not think that the Star Spangled Banner should be played at sporting events, unless there is something special about the game. It becomes so commonplace and loses all of its meaning. At the World Series and opening day, which each have their own special meaning, it would be appropriate.

I do find it very disrespectful as well, regardless to where you are. It is just like not standing or removing hats.It is hard to teach younger generations respect for our Flag and Anthem when they see the older ones doing disrespectful things.

Erik Bedard, great pitcher with great stuff, any chance of Cy Young award this year?
It is disrespectful true. But at least they are standing to sing it. The ones that remain seated and talk during it are worse in my book. GO TRIBE !Your thoughts on the following: Should they be elected in the Hall Of Fame? Yes or No?
It is disrepectful anyway including Baltimore. What would you like to see in baseball?
I don't think it's disrespectful and your petition won't change anything it'll just egg them on to do it more. Is that what you want? It's not showing disrespect so you mean the people mouthing the lyrics to the star spangled banner should be as well? We have freedom of speach they can do whatever they want during the National Anthem they can sing along too by saying the O who cares? By the way do you know where the Star Spangled Banner came from? Let me enlighten you it's an English drinking song. So a bunch of English people were drink made a song and it became our national anthem how sad is that? I think it is disrespectful for MLB to play God Bless America at games. It has no part in baseball.Have any suggestions on songs to sing while were in the dugout?
I think that it's disrespectful for the non-Americans and illegal immigrants at A's and Giant's games to sit during the National Anthems. All these scum do are talk in their native tongue, sit down and not even stand still while our flag/country is being honored. Very shameful. Also, I think that the drummers at Oakland are irritating to say the least. They think that wearing fake jerseys and having a Raider mentality in combination to be a wannabe Japanese baseball crowd is stupid. Just my two cents on those retards. It takes away from the true ambiance of baseball.
Are you **** serious? I mean really. This is how you devote your time by meddling in places where you patriotism fails you? I am sure when people are uttering this during games that they are completely directing a disrespectful vibe at the United States and they are all terrorists. Oh, and they think 9/11 was awesome.
Come on. Are they really going to throw like 20,000 fans out of a ballgame because you and like 10 other people are offended by such triviality?
And who cares if people sit or stand when the national anthem is played? It's their choice as US residents, or as US resident aliens. It's all the same. I'm the asshole buying beer while some 13-year-old prat sings the anthem; am I not patriotic enough for the masses?
