Does anyone know where I can sell my husbands baseball cards? (he wants to as well)?
I'd say AT LEAST in the 90-92mph zone...CONSISTENTLY.but then again, if you were in the 'right place' at the 'right time' and had some good movement on day when the 'heat' just wasn't there..you'd still would probably get noticed.but all things being equal, low 90's...92 at least..seeing as most 'pro-ballers' hit the mid 90's for 'almost' an entire game...90's BUT IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE IT DEPENDS WHAT TYPE OF PITCHER YOU ARE, IF YOUR A FASTBALL PITCHER THEN 80s WONT CUT IT, BUT IF YOUR AN OFF SPEED PITCHER 80s IS GOOD
How is better ken griffey jr or ken griffey sr?
It depends on what your strong pitches are. If you have a reputation as a fastballer without much other variety, anything under the low 90's won't get you anywhere. However, if you throw wicked curves and have top-notch pitch location, you can get by with a fastball in the mid-high 80's.Who is the one player on your favorite team you never want to see get traded?
90s to mid 90s on a consistent basis. Heck, if you can throw a fireballer like Joel Zumaya, it will attract scouts too!Which MLB team is currently the most diverse?
If you are clocked consistently in the mid-80s after warming up, then you might have potential.Of course you'd probably still have to get your fastball up into at least the low 90ish range eventually to have a realistic shot, but pro pitching coaches can often coax a few more mph out of you by working to perfect your mechanics.
As others have said, your likelihood of success would also depend in part on how effective your other offspeed pitches and pitch placement were, how effective you were at concealing the delivery of your pitches, etc.
What was the name of the San Diego Padre's ballpark before it became Quallcomm Stadium?
Low 80's cold eh? Well the good news is you will be noticed if you can bring it 91+ with MOVEMENT. Flat pitches get yanked when batters get an inside 94+ FB. So you have to develope cut or slider movement(slight, but 2-4 inches break). Also I would suggest getting in better shape. If you want this you have to work for it, especially being out of it for 2+ years right?
My dad was a scout for SF Giants for 18 years. So I might know what I'm talkin about.

Scouts wanna see if your a projectable player, what they can do with you, how much you can improve on what you have already and fine tune. As far as how fast you can throw, scouts want to see consistency, so if you can hit lets say 90 consistently or even high 80's with good movement and mix it up, locate, especially locate you could catch and eye of a scout. But it doesnt matter how hard you throw, even on one pitch, scouts want to see consistency, projectability, and a positive attitude. There are plenty of kids in college and even some in high school throwin well into the 90's, without fine tuning, but not all of them will make it because of pitching location issues, poor attitude/lack of drive, or scouts see them as reaching their full talent already. So find your strengths and embellish on them, if your a pitcher, develop a few pitches become comfortable in throwing all of them at any time, locate meticulously, and show yourself as being a player who if worked with by professionals could develop, because if your gonna make it teams want players who will improve and improve over time, not reach their peak and burn out. P.S. ive played with and against a bunch of kids who throw well into the 90s and the ones who cant locate get rocked.Throwing hard consistently will spark attention but wont get you anywhere without the other things i mentioned.Who did the Miracle Mets defeat to Win the I969 World Series?
Depends if you have other pitches that can compliment your fastball. If you have a great curve, that will set you a little bit away from the pack, but almost half of the kids coming out ouf high school now can throw 90 so you better bring something more to the table than just that fastball.Should Ramon Ortiz get released?
If by low 90s you mean 93, that's good. As long as it has velocity. Also, if you have other pitches like a two-seam fastball, a curve, and a change-up, and they all have movement, that's great. It all depends on how much velocity your pitches have. If you want to be like Colon, then you should improve your arm strength.10 Points Tuesday's Red Sox-Yank Game (quick)?
it also kind of depends on where youre putting it over the plate. no good in the middle of the strikezone, any hitter can catch up to it. But try and get your arm stronger and get the speed into the 90s!Alright im 14 and i throw high 70's to low 80's is that good?
itd be good if u could hit the 90s especially if youre only 20 years oldif you want to improve, the best way is to throw, throw, and throw repetition helps your throwing
Your Missing one VERY important detail... Are you a righty or a lefty? If you are a lefty you could get away with HIGH 80's fastball, if you have other stuff. For a righty you would need to be above 91+ and control... above 96+ you don't need as much control (Jorge Julio, Ambiox Brugos, etc). No a days pitchers are groomed for the bullpen from day one. Situational Pitchers, if you were a right sider armer (Chad Bradford) you will get to come in a face power hitters like Bonds, and Howard. Bottom line .. too many varibles... speed is not the be all end all of picthers
