Zito normally starts out a little bit slowly then turns it on towards the end of the year. Now people say he's overrated. Hmmmmm that's kind of funny since he averages 15 wins a year and doesn't miss starts. Can you name any pitchers the past 6 years that have averaged 15 wins per year since 2000? Name them then? When Zito gets on his game he's nearly unhittable and once that happens you're just going to be biting your tongue when you see him pitch he can make any player look silly with his curveball. But this deal would never happen not that Giants wouldn't want A-Rod, but where would they put A-Rod Centerfield or Right Field? They don't need him they have a great defensive third basemen in Pedro Feliz and Omar Vizquel is one of the best shorts stops defensively ever to play the game! They have no room for A-Rod unless they want to make him 1st base which that would mean he would need to try to play another position and look how well he has adapted to playing third not that great. Yes they can, but that would not work for either team. A-Rod can demand big bucks now because of his type of season, which the Giants don't have, and Zito isn't the Zito of the past if you ask me. No, they can't. Zito, with the addition of Roger Clemens, would probably be the 5th starter in New York, and A-Rod is arguably the best player in the league. And with Philip Hughes and Kei Igawa waiting in the wing, there would be no point in getting Zito. A-Rod also, with his no-trade clause, would not let this trade go through, as the Giants will not be competing for a World Series this year. But as a Red Sox fan, this trade would be a dream come true.The Yankees wouldn't even make that deal at gunpoint.

Given that the Giants just signed Zito to a huge contract this offseason, it wouldn't make sense to make a move like that.

This trade would never happen. A-Rod is one of the best players in the game and Zito is not doing near as well as he did when he was one of the big three in Oakland. Also this trade dosent make sense for the Yankees because they would be trading an everyday player that hits a ton of home runs and drives in a lot of runs for a pitcher that would pitch once every 4 or 5 days and is not a dominant starter anymore.Is nomar good in the NL and good in AL in 2004 (boston red sox)?
