Okay, so you have not watched him pitch, he looked great again last night. 10 K, 2 earned runs, that is a pretty good picther to me. honestly, he should be 3-0 right now except the fact that he has receved no run support in his last 2 starts. Watch him pitch, he is well worth the money now the team just needs to score some runs so they can win.The guys pitches move like a whiffle ball on a windy day. I think he is the real deal.

We'll see after the all-star break. The Sox wouldn't have cut the check if they didn't think he was for real, but the grind of the MLB season is much tougher than the Japanese League. I watched him pitch vs. the mariners and he looks as good as advertised. He has a 95 mph and people underestimate it just becuz he has all that sweet junk. The question is? Is he worth all that money? My answer Time will really tell how much he is worth. If he gets them a couple of wings then Yes, he is worth the money, but if they dont do anything and he goes back to japan or wherever then No. But you have to look at it like this. He is 26 years young. He has about good successful seasons left in him, so he will be worth all that money.He's only played two games, you can't judge him by just two games.

The thing that makes me laugh is before the season started, Red Sox fans were already ready to hand him the Cy Young award, Rookie of the Year and World Series MVP all in one. And this was before he even threw a pitch in the major leagues. Now he's 1-2. How do you explain that Red Sox fans?In all fairness, he didn't pitch a bad game tonight, but he still lost, and really, isn't that all that counts? And any day the Red Sox lose is a good day for me.

He's the real deal, he can hit spots with a 94-98 MPH fastball. He throws 2 great breaking balls (curve and split-finger). He also has that mysterious gyroball that moves in all different directions, he is one of the AL's best. What happens if Dice-K doesn't produce is backlash from the Red Sox media, and a lot of it. But don't go thinking that a high-profile organization such as the Red Sox didn't spend all that money on the guy without doing their homework on him first.Obviously they liked Dice-K well enough based on his performances in Japan to not only bring him over to the Red Sox organization, but have him be catapulted right into their starting rotation. That's a pretty noticeable move for a team that aims to make yet another world series push.
Ultimately though, we'll see how things develop with Dice-K over time. We'll see how he adjusts once teams get a few looks at form a more detailed scouting report on him.
That's usually a true indicator of weather or not you can hang in the big leagues. You have the talent to play at the big league level, but how do you adjust once teams can identify your strengths and weaknesses as a pitcher or hitter/feilder.

Yes, he is for real.He's only pitched 3 games so far. These people need to give him a break. Its way too soon to make a judgement about this guy.
And besides, even if you were making a judgement after just 3 starts, then you would definately say hes for real. Two of his 3 starts were 10K outings (even though one of them was the Royals). He didnt lose it for the red sox tonight, they lost it for themselves. The offense was off and thats not his fault, he did his part.
This guy will be an multi-time All Star in years to come.

Dice K - he has a good 6 yr before he wipes out!Not all Sox fans were ready to hand him all that hardware, Serio. A lot of us were very critical of the decision to give him that much money.
So far, he's been outstanding, and he has a reputation for endurance, so it's possible he could continue this pace through the rest of the year.
Now if only the Sox could score some runs for him.

I agree with Greg C....not ALL of us Red Sox fans were praising his name. I for one was NOT! People keep saying, "oh it's just 3 games so far", but pitchers need to be consistent. Josh Beckett learned that the hard way and now look at him...he's phenominal!!What happened with Charlie Manuel??
