The pitchers are always statistically better in April and May. Once batters start seeing more pitches and getting in more swings, their numbers will level back out. It's also really cold, and cold slows down bats. The big guys that are strugglin (Pujols, Soriano, and so on) will pick it up eventually.I've never seen a year that it didn't happen.

Usually he hits above .300 in the first 1-2 months and he is at .170 and has 3 homers. Some athletes might be seeing the ball different, they might be trying to cover to much of the plate- Barry Bonds though is hitting above .280 and has 3homers.and AROD is batting above .360 and has 7 homers so yeah its not that players are weak right now, it depends on who your a fan of

Much of it is weather related. My home team has been rained and snowed out & had one series moved out of the city. Everything will settle back down when spring actually arrives.Was this a prototypical AROD Game or what?
You have to consider that most havn't really played everyday against real pitchers in how long, besides spring training, but even then they don't play everyday. They just need time to get there timing and strength back to season form.Who do you think will start for the all star game this year in SF? (not including pitchers)?
cmon now. if u kno baseball then u r supposed 2 kno that it is a VERY streaky sport. certain players do good in certain months, certain times of the season, in certain situation, and so on. rite now theres a new bunch of big names who r slumping but the season just started and thats how the game is. next yr same problem different names get used 2 it.More Questions & Answers...
