Sorry to tell you this but the yanks are done. First of all Clemens wont do anything for the yanks. Sometimes in life you got to say enough is enough and hang em up. Clemens is done he should gracefully leave the game for the Hall is waiting for him. I know you hate the Bo Sox but they are without a doubt the best all around team in the game today. Being a Tigers fan its hard to admit when another team is better but you still cheer and hope your team wins. I don't feel sorry for the way the yanks are playing. Certainly a 10 game lead in May is not insurmountabe, (the Sox blew a 14 game lead in August to the Yankees back in 1978), but things look a lot better for the Sox right now than the Yankees.Coming from the NL to the AL, Clemens ERA will probably double, but coming from the Astros to the Yankees, his run support will probably quadruple, so he may win 10-12 games for the Yankees when he gets going.
However, if the Red Sox only play .500 ball the rest of the way, (61-61), they will finish with 89 wins. For the Yanks to catch them, they would have to go 71-51. New York is certainly capable of pulling that off, but I don't believe that the Sox will only win half of their remaining games.
I see the Yanks making a run, (after they bolster their pitching staff with some additional moves), but I also think that this Sox team is too strong, (and deep), to fold this season.
