Of baseball's division leaders on memorial day, what percentage win the division?

Question:

Answers:

Why the throwing routine after a strikeout?

I've got the percent since 1995. (2006-1995) I used actual Memorial day which was always May 30th. I did not use the observed which is used for 3 day weekends.

Combining both AL and NL the answer is .584 (58%) win their division, there were 30 changes out of 72 possibilities.

The NL is .667(67%) 12 / 36
The AL is .50 (50%). 18 / 36

The NL East is 75% 3 / 12
The NL Central is 58% 5 / 12
The NL West is 67% 4 / 12

The AL East is 33% 8 / 12
The AL Central is 75% 3 / 12
The AL West is 42% 7 / 12

Good question. I have never thought about this before.
