What's the origin of the nickname for Moises "Moisture" Alou?
yeah i have the same confusion sometimes. Essentially each game played counts as half a game, one half for each team. if one team's record is 25-14 and another team's record is 25-13, the team with the worst record can catch up to the other team if they win one game, which would be half since the team ahead did not play. hope this makes some sort of sense.What san francisco giants player grabbed dusty baker's son as he was crossing home plate?
If they've played a different amount of games. Team A is 20-19, Team B is 20-18. Team B is ahead by 1/2 game.They've played, or haven't played as many games as you have. If one team has played 80 games and the other 81 then they would be a 1/2 game apart.
two games loss is 1 game behind, one game loss .5 behind
What is a pinch runner and a pitch hitter?
Usually that means that the one team has played more games then the other. For example if one team had a 90-72 record and another had a 90-71 record, team one would be a half game ahead of team two. But once team 2 played, they would either be tied or one game behind.Half games are used when teams don't have the same amount of games played. For example Team A playd 20 games and won 15 and Team B played 19 games and won 15. Therefore B is 1/2 in front because they can get 16 wins in 20 games or if they loose they will be tied at 15.
@SevenDayTheory
In your example team two would be 1/2 game ahead.

If they haven't played the same number of games it can happen. If the teams were even, and one team played another game before the other, and won, they would be 1/2 game ahead, and if they lost they would be 1/2 game behind.In baseball what is an ERA and RBI??
If they win and the other team doesnt play or the one team loses and the other doesnt play.they can become a half game behind if one team plays and wins the higher team and the lower teams doesnt play that would be plus 1/2 game and the exact opposite can happen for gaining a half game
