Does the ESPN radar gun seem to be juiced (i.e reading 2-4 mph faster than it should)?
Question:seems like every pitcher tonight is topping out.
Answers:
Make a case for Joe Nathan NOT being the best reliever in baseball.?
#1-Radar guns are, "in general" inaccurate.#2-Unless the radar gun is aimed at a point exactly half way between the pitchers release point and home plate the reading will be a false one. The "average" ML pitchers fastball loses 8MPH from release to crossing home plate.
IOW an "actual" 95MPH fastball would have left the pitchers hand at 99MPH and crossed home plate at 91MPH about .375 seconds later.

Of course they up the readings, it's what the fans want to see. The radar guns at the parks do the same thing for the same reason. The only radar you can trust is the scouts that are sitting in the stands.Alex rodriguez entering prime or lucky streak?
