I think it's a little early to tell. To spend $51 million dollars just to have exclusive rights to him for a contract is ridiculous. I could think of a few pitchers they could have gotten with all of that money. Maybe he will do good, and maybe he won't. I guess in time we will see.

Yes they did. Well look what they have done this off-season. First the won the bet for the rights to talk to Dice-K ($ 51 million). Second they offered him a six-year, $52 million contract. Red Sox spend over $100 million on one guy alone. There trying to imitate the Yankees in some way; becoming a high payroll team.1st, I can't stand the Sox or the Yanks for that matter, but Dice-K looks like he might be a decent pitcher. It's way too early to see yet. But in no way would I spend 51 mill just to say "hi" to a player, that's a sucker waiting to be bit.lol
Its too early to tell, but his first two games were solid. Who ever says that he pitched poorly in his second outing is a moron. He just has to adjust to America.

Either way, I think boston will be great this year, but as an older club, if they get the injury bug, might fade by the end of summer.

I'm glad you asked, personally I think that this was the worst off season that the Redsox have ever had since they sold Ruth away. They spend over $100 MILLION DOLLARS on a guy for only 5 years, they spend $80 Million dollars on Drew and they get literally no starting pitching, and last they get a bunch of broken down relievers. Now they got a GREAT lineup and I have to say that it is up there with the Yanks at Most a tie with New York because the Yanks got a better infield until it gets to first. However they still are a good team and I am a DIE-HARD Yankee fan, but what I thought they should have gotten is more starting pitching besides turning a set up guy to be your fifth starter, and keeping Papelbon a closer when he should be a starter and move Tavarez, Pinero, Timlin, or Donnely to closer. However they take a huge risk and keep the closer were he is. But all in all the Yankees have a better rotation when healthy and bullpen and then they choke at their 4th and 5th starter.wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overspent
