Definately either Joe Mauer or Justin Morneau. Both have tremendous bats and are rising stars. Justin won it last year so he has a chance of getting it again. Yankees in general are at a disadvantage simply because their lineup is one superstar after another. A-Rod and Ortiz are perennial contenders, but voters generally tend to ask themselves "how good would Team X be without Player A's contributions?" In the case of the Yankees (and to a lesser extent, the Bo-Sox), they'd still be really strong, and I think that's why Jeter ultimately lost out last year. If you're looking for top players on teams not otherwise expected to excel, I would say Vladimir Guerrero is a good bet.Jeter or Mauer whom both got screwed last year.
