How come there are rain delays in Baseball but not in Football?
Question:It seems like football players are always playing, no matter if it's raining or snowing. Under those same conditions, baseball gets postponed. Do baseball players get hurt in the rain more often?

Grip and footing are pretty key to baseball, especially for pitchers and hitters. On the pitching side, the ball becomes very slick when wet and the likelihood of a pitcher losing his grip and hitting a batter with a pitch is much higher. In addition, the pitchers footing on a dirt/clay mound gets dangerous very fast as the surface gets wet. On the hitting side, gripping a bat that is wet is pretty difficult. Not only does it hurt the hitter's chance of making contact when the bat handle is wet, but the likelihood that it comes out of his hands on a swing and endangering others is high.I also suspect that like golf, the increased chance of having a player struck by lightning in the middle of a wide open field is pretty scary, especially because the players are wearing metal spikes.
Does astros rookie Hunter Pence have a rookie card yet ? If so where can I buy one?
It's dangerous to play baseball in the rain or snow. That's about it.No cheating, this is to test your knowledge.?
To be honest - not sure. Probably has something to do with the season they are played in. And football players are conditioned to handle slips, falls, etc - while baseball players conditioning is less bulk and more stretch. that's my best guess.Throwing a baseball requires footing and grip. In rainy conditions, control is diminished. This could cause significantly more injuries. In adition, a batters vision is compromised in the rain. If a pitched ball was thrown wildly (because of the rain) they would be less able to react quickly enough.
That's my thought...
Biggest waste of money this season (MLB)?
The pitcher looses all control with the rain. In football you just need to be able to throw a spiral. In baseball there are too many pitches that require an exact throw and exact release, curveball, knuckle, screw, anything breaking. I think it's the main reason. Plus, a batter looses a good amount of control of the bat in the rain. And that's obviously dangerous.Do you agree that there should be a PENALTY for an intentional walk?
Football only stops if there is severe lightning.Baseball is unplayable in severe rain.
Because baseball players are sissies.
