Ok a "cutter" or a cut fastball is very different from a curve. Like the name implies, the cutter is a type of a fastball unlike the curve which is a offspeed pitch. A cut fastball cuts back from the direction it came from.(i.e. a right-handed pitcher's cutter will cut back to the right.) A cutter usually runs in the 90's mph while a curve is in the low 80's to 70's mph. They're several types of a curve : 12-6 curve, power curve, and your basic curve . All are similar and break. The 12-6 curve is close to a sinker. Like the name implies(clock hands) the 12-6 curve sinks. Other curves break more diagonally and downward.(i.e. a right-handed pitcher's curve is gonna break from high-mid right to low left.
