Who was the greatest baseball player of the last 25 years?
Question:Anyone of any position who played (in the prime of their careers) in the last quarter century.
Answers:
Why is everybody underestimating the White Sox?
Hmm... I'm going to go position by position with this.C - Ivan Rodriguez - There are steroid rumors, but in his prime, this guy was a leader, called a great game, had one of the best arms in pro history and could hit the cover off the ball.
1B - Don Mattingly - Again, in his prime, there was nobody you'd rather start a franchise around. He had one of the best gloves ever around first base, and bonafide power to all parts of the field to go with a .300+ average. Back injuries sapped his power and did him in.
2B - Ryne Sandberg - How can you argue with a hall of famer?
3B - Alex Rodriguez - Like him or not, when all's said and done, he'll have more home runs than Ruth, Aaron, Bonds and anybody else who's ever laced up a pair of cleats.
SS - Ozzie Smith - Another Hall of Famer, one of the best defensive players of all time, carried a pretty good bat for a little guy too.
LF - Like it or not, you have to mention Barry Bonds. He's a cheater and a prick, but before he juiced up, he was still a heck of a ball player, and even without the homers, he'd have Hall of Fame numbers.
CF - Ken Griffey Jr. - Barry Bonds without the steroids. Natural power, one of the sweetest swings ever, and a gold glove. Injuries have ruined him though.
RF - Ichiro - The guy broke a record that's stood since practically the beginning of time. He's a hit machine with an outside chance at 3000 hits despite starting so late in the states.
Out of these guys... the best... I'd have to say Ken Griffey Jr. The guy did everything but win a ring.
On the pitching side, it's gotta be a dead heat between Roger Clemens and Greg Maddux.
I'm actually more impressed by Maddux... because he never had the fastball to blow by guys like Clemens. Maddux got by on amazing control, guile, and one of the best brains in the history of the craft.

Don Mattingly.Kyle Farnsworth criticizes Roger Clemens?
Alex Rodrigez! He is going to break the home run record. He hits over .300 every year. He is an RBI machine. He has won gold gloves at the toughest fielding position in the game and second position as well. And he does it without steroids, at least we think. Is this baseball season some gimmic or what?
I would have to go with my favorite player of all time Ken Griffey Jr. Straight stud offensively and defensively. Played for the Mariners when all they had was Griffey. Harold Reynolds probably the only person you can remember who played on the Mariners then as well. Later on he had A-Rod and R. Johnson, but three players doesn't win a championship. Minus his injury plagued years, we would be ranting over his homeruns instead of Ster-Bonds. But eventually A-rod would have surpassed him. I believe he had 9 or 10 straight gold gloves, remember the 94' season we could had seen him pass Maris's record before ROIDS were heard of. I have to mention probably the sweetest swing in baseball ever, just raw natural talent. Who can you even compare the "KID" to but who else than the "Say Hey Kid" Willie Mays, WOW! Thats a compliment. Plus he played in the Kingdome one of the worst domes ever, I've been there nothing special at all. Bonds is great but he developed his poer surge alte in his career, Griffey had it from the get go.Lets just hope we get to see a third generation with the Griffey's, Come on Tre'.
Secondly I would go with Mattingly, too bad injuries ruined his career, we really missed out. Nolan Ryan tops the pitchers for sure, pitched 27 seasons and still through heat at his later days. Remember when him and Ventura got into and he put him into a headlock and beat him down like a lil boy!!!
1991 Topps Manny Rameriz Draft Pick Baseball Card Help?
Roger Clemens.I'm not a big fan, but it is extremely likely that Roger Clemens is the greatest pitcher of all-time
He has 348 wins, the most since Warren Spahn hung 'em up in 1965. Roger's won seven Cy Young Awards, has led the league in ERA seven times, and has more strikeouts than anyone except Nolan Ryan.
Is Barry Bonds the greatest LF'er? I don't think he's quite topped Ted Williams or Stan Musial in that catagory. I'll go with the Rocket.
What is meant by a 'no hitter'?

What is a sean green signed pro bat worth?
Wow!! There are some interesting answers to this question. My 2 cents? While I believe that Barry Bonds is the best player today, (juiced or not), and the best over the last 25 years, the best player to ever play was Ted Williams. Hands down. Think of the numbers the man would of had had he not gone to war--TWICE!! I'd love to see another player come close to .401 average for a season. Won't happen, not these days. But, back to Barry. If there is more feared hitter in the game, I don't know who'd it be. (sure aint Albert or A-Rod). Does anyone not believe that the Babe, or any of those other players back in the day would of stayed off the "juice" if it was around back then?? I doubt it.
Ken Griffy is a good choice too. Definately the best Center Fielder in the game today, (even with the switch to right). Good question.
Anyone Else Going to Be Sad When Barry Bonds Breaks the Record?
