Should they let john lester for the red sox start in a majors game this year?
Question:is theo good at his job?
Answers:
How do you calculate earned run average, and batting average in baseball?
He's going to join the team after a few more rehab starts with Tavarez moving back to the bullpen. He was great last year and from every report I've seen he's healthy now but just needed an extended spring training before he started in the bigs this year. The answer is yes.
John has worked so hard, remember last year the cancer struck the poor kid. He's recovered now, and he deserves it. You've got to remember how he was before the cancer, he may pick up right where he left off.
Are the Blue Jays a THREAT to the Yankees this year?
Why the heck not. Cancer isn't contagious. If he's back to 100%, they should give him a chance to start. As for Theo Epstein's job skills, I would say he's all right. Sure the BoSox haven't been under .500 with him, but they spend 200 million dollars a year to keep it that way. Oakland does the same thing with a payroll that's less than 1/4th of that, and without signing any superstars to contract extensions (look at all the A's top pitching prospects that are on other teams now). There are GM's out there (like Billy Beane of the A's, Walt Jocketty of the Cardinals, whoever the Twins have, John Schuerholz in Atlanta, Dombrowski in Detroit ) who have proven themselves to be much better in assembling winning teams with less money. However, by the same token, there are guys like Jim Hendry for the Cubs, the GM in Baltimore, Seattle's GM, the Rangers' GM, and the new guy in KC who go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money and still manage to go under .500 and miss the playoffs and suck. (Note to Jim Hendry: Jason Marquis had the worst ERA of any starter who played the whole season. If that's really worth 6 million a year to you, I've got a bridge to sell you. No it can't help your pathetic rotation either, but hey, it'll spend less time on the DL than Mark Prior.)
