How is the winning pitcher decided?
There's no easy answer to that question. Honestly, it depends on the game situation, always. The only way to figure it out, each time, is by paying attention to what's happening at that time and in that game.It doesn't always apply, but much of the time, the idea is to keep the double play/force situation (a player at first) in order. That's done by throwing into second, but the play isn't always correctly at second
Help i need help with some softball cheers its due tommorow for literature?
When someone yells out the plays at two(or 1, 3, home) it means that the respective base is where the force out is, or where you only have to touch the bag and not tag the runner. You sound like an ametuer. at your level just throw the ball at the base that everyone is telling you the play is at.
Who are these babeball players for Austin kearns, travis miller? are they for the reds?? in 2003?
It really depends on the number and placement of runners, the number of outs, and where the ball is hit.The easy answer is if it's a force play and less than two outs, the play is always the lead runner (i.e. 3rd if there are runners on 2nd and 1st; or 2nd if a runner on 1st).
However, with no outs and runners at 1st and 2nd and a groundball is hit to the 2nd baseman, his best play is to 2nd base to try to get the double play, not to try to get the lead runner at 3rd. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the shortstop is supposed to throw to his side where the ball is hit. If it is hit to the 3rd base side, he throws to 3rd to get the lead runner. If it's hit to his left side, he throws to 2nd to try to get the double play.
If there are two outs, the play is to get the easiest out possible to get out of the inning. And 95% of the time, ALWAYS make sure of one out before trying to get the second.
Finally, home plate is always the most important to protect, unless there are two outs and then it's just important to make sure to get the out. Next important is second base because it is considered "scoring position" and any hit with a runner on second is likely to score a run.
Hope this helped.
Is David Ortiz a great hitter?
the number of outs, the inning and the score are the deciding factors.Example 1. If you have a 10 run lead in the ninth you will give up a run for an out.
Example 2. If it is tied in the ninth and less than 2 outs then the play will be at the plate if you are the visitors.
This is simple when someone yells where is the play you looks around and see if anyone is on base if know one is on base it is obvious that when you get the ball you are going to throw to 1st because the only person running will be the batter running to first so the play is at first. If there is alrready a person on 1st and they yell where's the play if you get the ball you should know either throw it to first or second because the runner on first is now running to second and the batter is running to first. So either 1st or 2nd. When there is a runner on 1st and 2nd the play is to either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd it depends how fast you get the ball and how fast the runner is to determine which base to go to. 1st is usually very easy to get an out rather than the other base. As for the most important to protect i would say home. Home is the base where the players can score so you want to make the plays at home alot so know one scores. Hope i cleared everything up I have been playing the game for about 9 years now.
