Cardinals Fans! All time best St. Louis rosters please!?

Question:A lot of great players have made St Louis their home, or at least passed a season there. What is your all time Cardinals roster? (I'm thinking along the 8 man plus pitchers, but extra credit for a 25 man roster)

Answers:

How far can the Boston Red Sox go this year?

I do this somewhat differently, as I only include any players that have played since 1946 - I put together the best "team" not the best player, and I also look at each individual season as a separate entity. A player with one great season could be on the team while a player with 20 good ones might not.

25 man roster
C-3B-Joe Torre - 1970
C-Ted Simmons - 1977
1B-Mark McGwire - 1998
2B-Red Schoendienst - 1953
2B-Tommy Herr - 1985
SS-Garry Templeton - 1980
SS-Ozzie Smith - 1987
3B-Scott Rolen - 2004
LF-1B-Albert Pujols - 2003
CF-Willie McGee - 1985
RF-Stan Musial - 1948
OF-Enos Slaughter - 1949
CF-Jim Edmonds - 2000
UT-Placido Palanco - 2001

Pitchers
SP-Bob Gibson - 1968
SP-John Tudor - 1985
SP-Jose Deleon - 1989
SP-Harry Brecheen - 1948
SP-Joaquin Andujar - 1982
RP-Joe Hoerner - 1968
RP-Al Hrabosky - 1975
RP-Jason Isringhausen - 2002
RP-Lindy Mcdaniel - 1960
RP-Mark Littell - 1979
RP-Ray King - 2004

I also do the 40 man roster - and what I call the "CBNC">close but no cigar< players

If you don't think that's the best Cardinal team, I challenge you to put them in a computer and try to beat them with your team made up of Cardinal players from 1946-2006.
