A little known player named Shorty McSmalls. In 1963, he threw a 200 mph fastball and struck the batter in the groin. That batter was later known as "Squeaky" Johnson who rose to fame in the early 70's as a catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. Why are there 16 teams in NL and 14 in AL?

Who were the yankees broadcasters on MSG in the 1990's?
It's a toss-up between Nolan Ryan, Joel Zumaya, and Kyle Farnsworth. They all have 100+mph stuff. The greatest reliably recorded speed at which a baseball has been pitched is 100.9 mph by Lynn Nolan Ryan (California Angels) at Anaheim Stadium in California on August 20, 1974.

What are the top 10 hitters parks in baseball and the top 10 pitchers parks in baseball?
On 8/20/1974 Nolan Ryan was clocked at 100.9 mph, officially the fastest one. However, Joel Zumya (I think thats his name) tosses at 101+ and Dibble for the Reds when he was so nasty got to 102 legend says. Ryan is officially the fastest though.Cute or hot baseball players ?
On 8/20/1974 Nolan Ryan was clocked at 100.9 mph, Now with the fact that the technology to measure pitch speed has improved over the years I would expect the readings registered to Joel Zumaya of the Tigers sometime last year around the 101 to 103mph range to be the fastest pitch thrown by a major league pitcher.Does the D.H help todays pitchers becuse of more rest in a Game or Hurt because of the extra hitter?
i don't know why everyone keeps saying nolan ryan is and he was clocked at 100.9 mph. espn had a list out at the beginning of the year that had players on every team and what they were clocked at last year. zamaya was at 104 and every team had someone that was 98 or higher. if i find the link i'll add it laterjoel zumaya - DETROIT TIGERS
Who hit the first world series home run?
bobby jenks and nolan ryan who threw 105mphIndians Fans, what are the best seats for your money at the Jake?
I would have to go with Nolan Ryan's 100.9 miles per hour over Zumaya's so-called 104 mph. The problem is that in-game radars are usually inaccurate. I remember watching a game where there were two radar guns and there was a five mile per hour difference between them on the same pitch. The radar guns they have in games tend to puff up the speed of the pitch, whether its for presentation reasons or whatever. I think I read somewhere that the average major league radar gun reads 3-4 mph higher than it ought to. According to wikipedia, it is generally concluded that Zumaya's 104 mph fastball was about 100 mph. Fox sports in particular is very bad as far as radar guns go. Also, Mark Wohlers, I believe of the Atlanta Braves threw one supposedly at 103 mph back in 1996, but it isnt official since they didnt have an accurate radar on him.So for now, Ryan is officially the fastest thrower in baseball history.
Is there a way to get Red Sox scores on My Yahoo without a bunch of other scores too?
Joel Zumaya and Nolan Ryan.No lie i pitch 60 in little league can somebody please tell me if thats slow for a kid whos 12 ?
Joel Zumaya - 103 (2006)Kyle Farnsworth - 104 (2005)
My next one would be Randy Johnson. Imagine a 6-11 pitcher throwing a 96 MPH fastball that he releases 4 feet from the plate. Damn he's tall.
