Well, i can tell you that as a freshman he wowed everybody going 4-0 with a 2.09 ERA. But this year, he kinda underachieved as he currently is 6-2 with a 3.31 ERA. There has been soooo much pressure on the kid that people won't even accept a loss by him anymore! He's not even the best pitcher on his own team now with Eric Surkamp doing much better.Brackman's biggest flaw is pitching strikes. His control is nothing to brag about and has led to more walks and more hit batters. His mechanics are just off. Also, he'll have a tough schedule coming up so we'll see how his arm holds up.
As of right now, he definitely still would be a top ten pick in my opinion. But he's really gotta work on his mechanics to keep from falling from the top 10.

Brackman, a 6'10" pitcher at North Carolina State, who recently gave up basketball to concentrate on baseball had only a so-so season in 2006 ( 1-3, 6.35 ERA.). However, his decision to play only baseball may be only the first step to success in the game. He has shown a lively fastball, but needs to develop a breaking ball and an off-speed pitch, plus concentrate on his control. So far this season, he has once again had trouble finding the strike zone and allowed a lot of walks. He is not a top ten pick nor even a first rounder yet and needs much more polish before he will even be noticed.More Questions & Answers...
