Should they rename the Pesky Pole in Fenway the Papi Pole?

Question:With as many HRs as Ortiz hits down the line there, what do you think?

Answers:

A Red Sox fan at Yankee Stadium?

No. The reason it is named Pesky's pole is because of a unlikely home run Pesky hit that wrapped around the pole to win a game for pitcher Mel Parnell (who later went on to become a broadcaster and coined the term "Pesky's Pole).

Anyway, Pesky, who had very little home run power (17 HRs in 10 seasons) probably only had one way to knock one out of the park at fenway and that was to pull a ball around the right field foul pole.

What is it about baseball that draws such an enormous crowd of fans?

No - it has way too much history.

The Pirates?

I doubt it. The pole is historical.

What worst thing about espn and fox baseball telecasts?

NO. Pesky's been with the Sox for 60+ years. Never gonna happen. Ortiz hits bombs to all fields, anyways. Didn't you notice?

Whay year did Cubs manager Lou Piniella win R.O.Y?

No--too historical
