Has an Major League Baseball team gone an entire season without being swept by any other team?

Question:If so what team and what year?

Answers:

Baseball announcers, opinion question?

I didn't believe it had been done since going to a 154 or 162 game schedule, but it has. Two examples are the one given by the second answer here, the 1998 Padres. My favorite team, the Jays, also pulled it off in 1992. The 114-48 Yankees of 1998 dropped a two-game series to start their magical season, while the 116-46 Mariners of 2001 made it all the way to September without being swept, only to have Oakland take three straight from them.

The Cubs have done it at least twice, albeit a long time ago. In the NL's first season, they went 52-14 without being swept, but of course that was with a short schedule. They did it again, though in 1907 when they went 107-45.

It's a lot tougher to do in modern times because there are so many 3-game series, where the odds of a sweep are so much greater than in the 4-and-5 game series that used to dominate the schedule.

Who is the weakest offensive baseball team this season?

I think the 1998 Padres went all season without being swept. Of course, until the Yankees swept then in four games in the World Series.

What pitcher has the best lifetime strikeout to walks ratio?

I don't quite understand your question, but I do know the 1996 Yankees were a perfect 16-0 against the Tigers.

Can the New York Yankees will the American League East this season?

Baseball has been around so long it's hard to find some off-the-wall statistic that hasn't happened yet. Every year I hear some stat about how many times something I thought was a once in a lifetime achievement has happened in history; and it turns out it has happened three or four times.

This has happened on a couple of occasions, without doing a little research I can't tell you who and when but I do know it's happened.

Who's worse, the Cardinals or the Nationals?

I'm sure it's been done a few times, but I know that the '92 Blue Jays were one such team.
