Soriano or Pie?
Question:Ok, so this Pie guy has been the buzz of Cub fans for 3 years ("just wait till Pie get up to the majors! man o MAN!")
SO it seems to me that hes a WAY WAY WAY better CF than Soriano (which isn't fair because they ask the guy to play out of position... yeah, thats smart)
He'll hit if you give him time.
Why not move Soriano to a corner (or even 2B) and let Pie play. The Sox would kill to have this guy and the Cubs have him rotting in the minors.

I think the Cubs have to find a way to keep him around. It wasn't that long ago that Soriano went to great lengths to staunchly refuse to play outfield for the Nationals, a demand he eventually gave in on.Then why not move Soriano back to the infield, where he would rather be anyway, to make room for Pie??
I live close to Des Moines, where the Cubs' AAA team calls home, and have seen Pie play in person. The guy is a tremendous talent; we would hate to lose him. But he is too good to be here, he belongs in Chicago.

Absolutely. If you have so much talent, find a spot for him to play or else make a trade to get some value for him. I'm from Des Moines, so Pie's been talked about for years. Soriano's out of position, but they both have incredible talent, and there's not a lineup in the majors that couldn't make room for Pie. The Cubs either need to play him or trade him.Who's more likely to win the NBA Finals? The Mavericks or the Suns?
Now that Soriano is hurt, it's possible that they'll bring him up. You can't say that Pie is *better* than Soriano because until Pie is proven in the majors, he's just a minor-league talent.But I agree that Soriano should be moved back to the infield (especially so he doesn't strain his groin trying to throw from center).

theyre both good...move soriano to a place where hes played before like lf or 2b...and play them bothPie in CF ONLY if Soriano is still in the line-up. 2B would be nice and have Mark DeRosa at SS and get Cesar Izturis cause his bat SUCKS. But Pie in the line-up would allow Soriano to hit in a power position. Pie could bat leadoff because he has showed a patience bat this spring and early this month and the 3,4,5 holes could be a mix of Lee, Ramirez and Soriano.

I doubt that Pie will ever have as much power as Soriano does, but I think Pie will eventually have a better average, more stolen bases, more hits, and I think he's already a better defender than Soriano.
They should shift Soriano to LF or RF, and put Pie in CF full-time. Just wait, pretty soon everyone's gonna want a piece of Pie.
