Not only that, what should that do with the lack of hitting? There has to be somebody in that clubhouse which is making everyone overanxious. I think the team is dwelling too hard on their mistakes. At first I thought it was Bagwell creating that atmosphere, but maybe its Biggio too. This is a mental thing they shoulod be able to shake off. As proof, Carlos Lee and Beltran had no problems hitting and they arent tied in deep friendships with the team, somebody needs to come in to help them relax, then Lidge and the batters will probably overcome this. But you know our Astros, they have to be in a big slump, dont care anymore, they relax, then start winning, it happens every year.

What should I do after being benched?

Not too long ago Brad Lidge was one of the most dominating closers in baseball. I would have left him at closer, but if you demote him he should definitely be the set-up man for the Astros.

Why are the 1st 2 foul balls strikes, but after that they're not? Can you just keep fouling pitches off?

The Astros had this problem last season and it's magnified even more. He could be moved to a set-up position or have the closer's role shared with another pitcher. Unfortunately, when a closer loses it, the best thing that can happen for the pitcher and team is a change of scenery, if someone is willing to take a chance on a project.

these bias fans are idiots. he isnt going anywhere. i dont see why every fan for their team (from above for the braves and mets) thinks they are going to get lidge. lidge is staying right where is he, with the stros. but the astros have two big problems, one being what is going to happen to clemens which i think he will be yank, sadly enough, then retire and the stros need to pick up some hitting, like last year they couldnt win games cause of their offense, look for them to add to their bats and not worry about pitching...hope that helps

Trade him to the Cubs for Mark Prior. They both need a change of scenery. Cubs need a closer (Dempster sucks) & Prior is still just 26 yrs old, tremendous upside if he could ever get healthy.
