Who are the biggest rivals currently for the Toronto Blue Jays?

Question:Which team is the biggest rival for the Toronto Blue Jays? Any rivalry similar to New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox or Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants, meaning it has a bit of history to it?

Answers:

Who is the best player right now and why?

For a spot in the playoffs it's boston or new york...before interleauge messed it up it was the Tigers because most Toronto fans were Tigers fans before Toronto had a team.

Who was the baseball american league mvp in 1984?

Toronto is one of a few teams in baseball that really have no major rivals. They haven't been competitive enough to have rivalries with the dominant teams of the AL (New York, Boston, Minnesota, Chicago, Anahiem, Oakland) and they are the only major league team in Canada, so there is no major close rival the way New York is split between the Mets and Yankees, Chicago is split between the Cubs and White Sox, and Los Angeles is split between the Angels and Dodgers.

If anything, their only "rival" would be the Washington Nationals, but only because they were originally the Montreal Expos and were the only other MLB team in Canada.

What team played in the Polo Grounds ?

I really don't think the Blue Jays have an intense rivaly with anyone, not that it's a bad thing, but at this point they are nothing more than "division rivals" for the Red Sox, Yankees, Orioles and Devil Rays.

They don't have any well documented bad blood with any other franchise, nor have they been to the playoffs in a long time. It's not like they've been battling Boston and NY year in and year out for that AL east title.

If Toronto is going to have any kind of rival, especially in the AL east, it's going to have to be born out of continually battling for the playoffs in the AL east, which means having more meaningful games against other AL east contenders in September.

Toronto doesn't seem to have a long-standing history with anyone that seems to warrent a big time rivalry. Probably the closet thing they had to that was in 89 through the early 90s when they would battle with the Orioles for the AL east title.

Who is your all time favorite pitcher for the AL and the NL ?
