It's a David vs. Goliath thing. The Yankees are the big monster that everyone else likes to go up against. They're a great franchise with a more successful history than any in pro sports. "Back in the Day" it was said "Rooting for the Yankees was like Rooting for US Steel" (now its like rooting for Microsoft - LOL) , and at one point there was actually a regulation against dealing with the pennant winning team from the previous year (due to the Yankees always picking up players at the trading deadline).Is Schilling going to cry like a baby every time he loses this year?

'cause they are tired of hearing how great a team they are, even when the record doesn't show it. Same thing with the Red Sox. Because the media is so East Coast driven, they think that everything sportswise revolves around the east coast. The reason non-yankee fans care is because the Yankees are good for baseball. Whoever plays against them is the automatic underdog. They dominate the season, and ultimately fail in october so our teams get the glory. The Yankees failing is what make our wins even better.More Questions & Answers...
