If Tim McCarver is such a genius, why hasn't he been offered or accepted a managers job?
Question:He is so educated, he becomes boring if you listen to him. Forever managing from the booth. Has he ever been mentioned in 20+ years as a managing candidate?
Answers:
Do you think Dice-K will win the Cy Young award, or any other awards?
Tim McCarver hasn't said anything new in 20 years. I hate it when World Series time comes up, and they have him doing the commentary. He doesn't even know the players, he's just telling you the surface details he's read from the media guide. It's too bad they don't let the home team's tv color man be apart of the team in the booth.Should the Devil Rays fire Joe Maddon?
I've never heard him be mentioned as a candidate, and I've been a baseball fan since he was playing.I think his run-ins with Deion Sanders a while back torpedoed any real chance he ever had to be a skipper. That, and the fact that he is an egotistical a**hole might have something to do with it. The sound of his voice makes me want to break my TV, so I don't listen to him anymore, ever. He sucks.
When was the last time the cubs won 8 games in a row?
I don`t look at him as a genius so much as an idiot savant, sort of the rainman of b-ball. The only one I like less is joe morgan!Who hold the MLB record for career home runs?
Rather loose with the term "genius," aren't you? He's just a guy that played the game. That doesn't make him a management candidate (although it doesn't hurt). However, to answer your question, I haven't heard of him ever being offered a job, so I guess we're stuck with him in the booth.I don't think he is interested.
Why do the Kansas City Royals continue to play poorly year after year?
Listen to his Cardinals, Mets, and Yankee broadcasts. He's so one sided it's downright ridiculous.Does anyone think if Josh Gibson played in the mlb he'd be the all time home runleader?
You said it yourself. He becomes boring to listen to. I don't think he could inspire a team. Plus, I don't think he'd know how to manage in todays game. He's too old school. He's burned some bridges as well, do you think Sammy Sosa would want him to be the manager in Texas when McCarver was so outspoken during the corked bat incident? There are teams out there that you can tell he does not like. With objectivity out the window, I think its time he steps down from the booth, let alone manage a ball club.
Where to find the abbott and costello routine for the red sox?
Because quite frankly he knows nothing of baseball strategy and rules. He only caught for Carlton in his day so he played about 1 out of 3 games his entire career.Maybe he didn't want to become a manager and is happy being an announcer.
I would imagine he's not interested. He's got a cushy job now,why have to do all that traveling and preparing...plus mgrs have to deal w/a lot of BS. He certainly has the know-how,he's a good baseball guy. Besides, the only managerial job he would consider is taken by LaRussa. I guess if Tony gets another DWAI,McCarver may have a shot :o)
Should i long toss or lift to gain some mph on my fastball?
The number one reason why Tim McCarver isn't a manager..the networks pay better. As a New Yorker, I have had to endure this man for years..then they have the nerve to team him up with Joe Buck.my volume is at ZERO.
And yes, if you listen to his broadcast, he is very one-sided especially for my Mets (call a spade a spade).
