I know that you asked for the Cubs ownership since 1908, but I decided to give you the complete history...1876: William Hulbert (Team name was Chicago White Stockings. They were one of eight charter members of the National League).
1882: Albert Spalding (Yes, that Spalding, who, incidentally pitched for the Boston Red Stockings and for the Chicago White Stockings. He pitched with a baseball he developed.)
1902: James Hart (Purchased from Mr. Spalding).
1905: Charles Murphy (Purchased club for $125,000. That is equivalent to approximately $3.78 Million in today's money.)
1914: Charles Taft
1916: Charles Weeghman and nine other partners purchased and moved the Cubs into Weeghman Park, located on the Corner of Addison and Clark.
1921: William Wrigley Jr. (Who owns Wrigley's Chewing Gum) purchases club and ball park from Weeghman. Renames Weeghman Park to Cubs Park. In 1926, changes name from Cubs Park to Wrigley Field.)
1981: The Tribune Company purchases club from the Wrigley family for $20.5 Million.
2007: ?
I hope that you enjoyed the history lesson. Go Cubs!
