Selling tickets for higher than face value is completely legal off stadium property. That is why you will always see scalpers on the street, and rarely inside. If they are inside, they are usually looking to buy for face value from someone and sell them out front for a profit.NickVZ is wrong !!
It's illegal to sell ticket above face value on the street anywhere. That's scalping. You're making profit selling a frachized item w/o their permission, w/o charging sales tax, and w/o claiming that income. It's illegal to sell them on stadium property at any price because the team has exclusive rights on that site to sell their own product. They have no such right across the street.
When buying on-line you're paying an administrative fee. That profit is traceable and is declared as income by the seller. There aree no sales tax issues because you're not sellingw/i a city.items on line o
